Basic Meditation Instruction
Our practice is centered around mindfulness and awareness meditation. All courses, dharma talks and community meditations are focused on meditation practice, and instruction is always available in person, as direct instruction is highly valued. For your use at home, we offer the following.
Readings:
These are most helpful if printed out as ‘hard copies.’ The Concise Meditation Instruction (PDF) fits on one page, and may be useful as a short primer or a refresher. But the full instructions on posture, working with the breath, and more can be found in this very accessible reading:
Detailed Instructions from the book “Mindfulness in Action” by Chogyam Trungpa Rinpoche (PDF)
Audio Recordings:
These are recordings of live class presentations. They are meant to serve as a refresher for those that attended one of these sessions, or for those that are too far away to attend one. Since they are actual classes, they are a bit rough and also include periods of silence when participants are meditating. We hope that you find them helpful.
Each link should open a new tab or page in Dropbox, where streaming or downloading are both options.
